About Capt. Gary Marriage Jr.
Captain Gary Marriage Jr. is a licensed and insured Master Captain. He is a native born Floridian and has fished throughout the state of Florida, and several other states and countries during the past 25 years.
He competes in several local and state fishing tournaments throughout the year and has done very well. By running a very successful offshore charter business and finishing high in tournaments standings, Capt. Gary has garnered the sponsorship of several fishing industry leaders (see our sponsors page for complete list). This allows him to provide you with the latest in fishing tackle and gear and it also helps promote the sport of fishing.
Capt. Gary is very excited that his offshore and inshore fishing reports are now featured weekly on the hit TV show "The Chevy Florida Fishing Report". Tune into the Big Bend area report hosted by Capt. Jeff Hagaman for our weekly fishing reports.
Capt. Gary is well versed in fishing habitats and how changes in the weather can affect a day's catch. Capt. Gary keeps informed of the daily weather patterns and tide changes to ensure his customers have the most productive and enjoyable day possible while on the water.
Capt. Gary is also a Certified International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Captain, so if you or your child catches a World Record Fish he can log and submit all of the required documentation to the IGFA Hall of Fame for certification.
Capt. Gary is also very active in his community. He has volunteered his time and personal expenses to help protect US and State Wildlife habitats and fisheries. Capt. Gary assists the Florida Fish and Wildlife Dept. in the needed DNA sampling of Tarpon and Redfish that are caught aboard his vessels. This is a non lethal and absolutely 100% harmless DNA sample of the fish. This information helps all of us understand the migratory patterns and health of fish stocks in the State of Florida. Capt. Gary also volunteers in several different charity events throughout the year such as: Wheelin Sportsmen Without Limits, the Make a Wish Foundation, Fishing for the Fight, and the Big Brother Big Sister Programs.
